Effective September 26, 2022, the Government of Canada amended the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations to protect temporary foreign workers (TFW). Changes are now in force where employers are:
- Required to provide all TFWs with information about their rights in Canada
- Prohibited to retaliate against their employees (e.g., employees who come forward with a complaint)
- Not allowed to charge recruitment fees to workers
- Required to provide reasonable access to health care services
