On March 20, 2026, the National Payroll Institute published the introduction of the Pay Transparency Act via the Late Breaking Payroll News, which requires employers to
- Disclose salary ranges in job postings;
- Prevent them from relying on a candidate’s previous pay when setting compensation;
- Protect employees who talk openly about their wages; and
- Address systemic pay gaps that affect certain categories of employees.
On June 12, 2026, the Pay Transparency Act received Royal Assent, but it is not yet in force.
