On April 2, the Prince Edward Island government announced the following minimum wage increases.
- On October 1, 2026, the minimum wage will increase from $17.00 to $17.30 per hour.
- On April 1, 2027, it will increase from $17.30 to $17.60.
Employers with employees who are covered under the Prince Edward Island Employment Standards must:
- Comply with the minimum wage standards;
- Update their wage policies accordingly, including revising collective agreements to ensure compliance and fair compensation to all employees; and
- Analyze the impact on the organization’s budget and advise accordingly.
