On March 19, 2026, the Canada Revenue Agency announced that it would permanently close all drop boxes currently at 45 locations across Canada on May 29, 2026.
Employers and taxpayers who use drop boxes, will have the following options:
- Online submissions;
- Electronic payments;
- Regular mail; and
- In-person payments at Canada Post locations or at a financial institution.
