Minimum Wage Increase – Québec

On January 28, 2026, the Québec government introduced a Regulation to amend the Regulation respecting labour standards.

Effective May 1, 2026, the minimum wage will increase as follows:

  • General minimum wage from $16.10 to $16.60;
  • Employees receiving tips from $12.90 to $13.30;
  • From $4.78 to $4.93 per kilogram for raspberry pickers; and
  • From $1.28 to $1.32 per kilogram for strawberry pickers.

Employers must:

  • Comply with the minimum wage standards;
  • Update their wage policies accordingly, including revising collective agreements to ensure compliance and fair compensation to all employees; and
  • Analyze impact to organization’s budget and advise accordingly.
