Internet File Transfer – New Reference Guide

On January 15, 2026, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) published a new Internet File Transfer – reference guide to support filers submitting information returns electronically.

This new reference guide outlines requirements for using the Internet File Transfer application and reflects the latest versions of the following.
 

• T619 – Electronic Transmittal Record
• XML Schema
• XML Specifications for all information return types

Filers should:
 

• Review the new reference guide as soon as possible;

• Confirm that their systems and software are aligned with the updated T619 and XML requirements; and

• Make any necessary updates before filing.

Taking these steps now will help prevent rejected electronic submissions and support timely, compliant reporting.
