On November 7, the Institute published a Late Breaking Payroll News announcement introducing Bill 201 Employment Standards (Protecting Workers' Pay) Amendment Act, 2025, which proposed an increase to Alberta’s minimum wage. Despite this initial announcement, the Bill did not proceed through the legislative process and ultimately was eliminated.
The Institute will continue to monitor Bill 201 should it be reintroduced and advise its members accordingly.
