Minimum Wage Increase – NS

On December 2, 2025, the Nova Scotia government announced the minimum wage increases for 2026 as follows. 

  • April 1, 2026: the minimum wage will rise from $16.50 to $16.75. 
  • October 1, 2026: the minimum wage will further increase from $16.75 to $17.00. 

Employers must comply with minimum wage standards and update their wage policies accordingly. This includes revising collective agreements to ensure compliance and fair compensation for all employees.
