On July 11, 2024, the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) will introduce two distinct Year’s Maximum Insurable Remuneration (YMIR) values for the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, effective January 1, 2025.
Starting January 2025, employers with employees in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut will no longer use the same MIE for both territories.
The 2025 MIE values for the Northwest Territories will be released in November 2024. The Institute will inform its members accordingly.
