New Workplace Equity Tool
Starting January 1, 2021, federally regulated private sector employers with 100 or more employees, as mandated by the Employment Equity Act, must submit their salary data, highlighting aggregated wage gap information.
On February 2, 2024, the federal government launched Equi'Vision, a tool to highlight equity barriers in employment for women, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities, and visible minorities in federally regulated sectors.
This innovative tool showcases wage gaps and allows comparisons across employers, sectors, and locations in Canada, with filters for specific groups or overall employee data, making Canada the first country to offer such a level of transparency.
On June 1, federally regulated private-sector employers with 100 or more employees must submit their workforce data annually under the Employment Act Equity, excluding individual salaries.
