Nova Scotia has accepted the recommendations of the Minimum Wage Review Committee and announced that it would hasten an increase to the province’s minimum wage, due mainly to high inflation.
Therefore, the minimum wage will rise to $15 by October 1, 2023, six months sooner than scheduled.
The minimum wage is currently $13.60 per hour and will increase twice this year on April 1 to $14.50 per hour and on October 1, 2023 to $15.00 per hour.
