PEI - Hurricane Fiona Wage Assistance for Employers

Employers in Prince Edward Island (PEI) that have been affected by Hurricane Fiona, which could not operate, and did not earn revenue between September 25 and October 8, 2022, due to power outages or significant damage, may apply for the wage rebates. Affected employers will receive up to 100 per cent of wages rebated, calculated at 100 per cent of payroll costs up to a maximum of $25 per hour, a maximum of $1,000 per week for PEI employees during the period that the business could not open and not earn an income due to Hurricane Fiona.

The program covers only PEI-based businesses who have employees working in PEI.

To calculate the rebate, employers can use Fiona’s wage rebate spreadsheet.
