ROE Dismissal Codes for Employment Affected by COVID-19

When employees are directly affected by COVID-19 and are not working, an ROE must be issued. Please refer to this HelpDoc for instructions on generating an ROE. When creating an ROE Please select one of the following options for Reason for Issuing ROE

  • Employee is sick or quarantined: Illness or Injury (Code D)
  • Employee stops working due to shortage of work or shutdown due to COVID-19: Shortage of Work (Code A)
  • Employee is not sick or quarantined but not working due to other reasons related to COVID-19: Quit (Code E) or Leave of Absence (Code N)

Note: Please only add comments to the ROE when required. Including comments will pull the ROE from the automatic processing queue to be reviewed by an agent, this will slow down the ROE processing time

Service Canada has a toll-free number - 1-833-381-2725 - for any worker who is ill or experiencing a loss of work due to COVID-19.
